Just a thought thats been plaguing me these last few weeks - will underground drum'n'bass, ambient/electronica (Aphex Twin, Squarepusher etc), replace conventional guitar rock (normal punk/metal etc) as the new form of alternative music? It was partly the opening line on Alec Empire's new album ("Im talking about the death of rock'n'roll") that got me thinking

I dont think 'conventional rock' is that alternative. And if you put conventional rock next to some of the random electro-goth stuff that I like then yes, electro is more alternative, because more of you have heard of Guns and Roses than you have of Apoptygma Bezerk. [Im so underground oh yes ]

But its a bit of a strange question...

I recommend everyone download Alice In Videoland because they are an AMAZING electro band and much better thasn Guns and Roses...well, thats not hard but anyway....

i like cook 'n' decker and bass. drill and bass what the the fiery pits is that? too many bloody genres. I really hate genres. like the people on download message board who dont like a band because they have heard they are emo or the name sounds emo. wankers.

i personally like plank of wood 'n' paintstripper. that's far more exciting!

drill n bass is a genre idiots. its venetian snares & aphex twin et al.. drum n bass taken to horrible extremes and crashed into broiler techno. some people i know prefer to ignore it and call the whole area 'breakcore' - so as to include artisits like droon and sickboy. WHO F.UCKING ROCK.

i think talking about diversity then saying something else is s.hit is retarded...
